Our latest research “Assessment of trace organic chemicals in anaerobically digested sludge and their partitioning behaviour: Simultaneous Soxhlet chemical extraction and quantification via LC-MS/MS analysis” by Enrica Ciotola, Ignacio Sottorff, Konrad Koch, Alessandra Cesaro, and Giovanni Esposito has been published!
This study developed a novel and cost-effective analytical method to quantify 32 emerging contaminants in anaerobically digested sludge combining Soxhlet extraction and LC-MS/MS analysis.

The proposed methodology represents an important step in understanding and defining how emerging contaminants behave in anaerobically digested sludge so to ensure the safety of reusing and upcycling biosolids in agriculture.
